Welcome to the Jockey Club Institute for Medical Education and Development (JCIMED) website. As the Honorary Director, I am delighted to introduce you to this groundbreaking initiative that represents a significant advancement in Hong Kong's medical education landscape.
JCIMED, officially launched on 1 November 2024, embodies the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine's ongoing commitment to excellence in postgraduate medical education. Our institute has evolved from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Innovative Learning Centre for Medicine (HKJCILCM), expanding its scope beyond simulation training to encompass comprehensive postgraduate medical education. This transformation has been made possible through a generous donation from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
Our institute is built upon the principles outlined in the "Hong Kong Academy of Medicine position paper on postgraduate medical education 2023," focusing on four key areas: Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME), Faculty Development, Continuing Medical Education/Continuous Professional Development (CME/CPD), and Quality Assurance. We are dedicated to equipping educators with CBME principles, enhancing teaching skills, modernizing CME/CPD approaches, and maintaining high standards across all our educational programs.
At JCIMED, we leverage cutting-edge technologies such as Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to provide immersive and interactive learning experiences. Our vision extends beyond Hong Kong, as we aim to contribute significantly to capacity building of medical and healthcare practitioners in the Greater Bay Area.
