Virtual Reality Training Room
The room is equipped with a 180-degree immersive projection screen, allowing the projection of life size characters. Many scenarios can be projected onto these screens, varying from scenes of natural disaster where we can simulate initial emergency responses, to press conference where one can interact with the media. Trainers and participants can stand behind the one-way mirror in the next room to observe their colleagues’ performance. It is an ideal place for communication skills, public speaking and presentation skills training.
Chroma Key, a commonly used filming technology, has been recently installed. Using blue or green screen as the initial background, the background can then be replaced with new images and turn the room into different settings.
Procedural Skills Room
The room is specially designed for skill training with part task trainers. This is where we can practice specific skills in a controlled and safe environment.
Debriefing Rooms
We have two spacious debriefing rooms equipped with computers and projection screens. It allows playback of video taken during simulation exercise to facilitate debriefing. Facilities for videoconferencing are also available.
Control Rooms
Adjacent to the simulation rooms are our two control rooms. All the simulators are controlled through the control rooms. There are multiple monitor screens for observing activities in the simulation rooms. The participants’ performance can be recorded and be reviewed during debriefing session.
Ward
The room is fully equipped with facilities for in-patient ward care. It can function as a general ward, labour ward, trauma room, recovery room, intensive care unit, etc. We have a variety of high fidelity simulators including SimMan, SimMom, SimJunior, SimBaby and SimNeonate. The simulators are controlled by computers in the control room which adjoins the ward, behind the one-way mirror.
Operating Theatre
The room is designed to simulate a typical operating theatre. Operating table, anaesthetic machine and a variety of surgical equipment have been installed. There is a 60 inch screen for display of scans of the patients. It has an adjoining control room with one-way mirror.
Consultation Room

This room is designed to simulate an out-patient clinic and allows participants to practice how to deliver quality care in clinic setting, including breaking bad news and communicating with distressed patients, performing minor procedures, etc.
